Unusual antique heavy 10k Solid Multi Gold Art Nouveau Floral Link Bracelet 7" w/ matching earrings (each flower is 7/16" wide & 5/16" deep from the base to the top of the flower which excludes the 1/2" long post). Excellent condition with no dents, dings or scratches to the gold (little wear to this set).
For it's age it is in exceptional condition. Hard to find matching set. Three dimensional quality of the design. Review all photos as the first one came out too dark using an iPhone to take it.
I do not plan to reduce the price any further since my wife won't let me. My wife has had it for at least 35 yrs and never wore it since she was always too busy working without the time to change jewelry.
This bracelet is marked 10k (see last photo). Two different times shades of gold (rose & yellow) are used (see photos). The pierced earrings have the original post backs. Because each post is 1/2" long plus the depth of the flower is 5/16" the earrings do not lie flat against the ear and this adds to the 3-dimensional look.
Lots of 14k gold total of 23.3 grams for the set. Unlike most bracelets with a flat surface through the design, this antique bracelet is 3 dimensional which draws attention to it. The multiple colors of gold only enhances the unique look. This 7 long 10k solid gold floral link bracelet is a combination of rose and yellow gold.
Each flower is rose gold while the leaf links are yellow gold with some green gold in the leaf. The connecting links are yellow gold.
The bracelet is fluid and because it is close to the wearer's wrist it does not move too much which my wife believes is better as it prevents the gold from being dented by hitting things. The raised flowers are 3 dimensional and are very unusual, especially in the excellent antique condition seen. Even using a 30x jeweler's loupe I do not see any scratches (on either side) which is very unusual for a set this old.
My wife does not even recall wearing it in the past 20 plus years she has had it due to always working and not wanting to risk damaging the gold although this is less likely with 10k gold. From my research this set dates back to the 1930's-1940's. The 3-D detailed workmanship is just not found today and the 3 different colors of gold is also rare. Although my wife is retired and downsizing her jewelry collection, she likes to just look at this set since it is so unique compared to the mass produced jewelry today. Although it is 10k gold, it looks more like 14k because if the richness of the gold colors. The bracelet has some type of hook clasp where one piece folds over (by sliding) on piece on top of the other piece so they securely lock. Because this set is in exceptional condition, there are no dents, dings, or scratches to the gold. The bracelet is 7" long and my wife's average size wrist is 6.5" around and it fits fine with room to spare. Flexible links which move but not as much as many longer bracelets. My wife actually prefers the shorter length since it is less likely to get caught on something and cause damage and thinks it was deliberately made shorter for thus rest so. Must to see it in person to appreciate the workmanship.
My wife's iPhone was used to take these unaltered photos and it does not take very good photos of jewelry compared to the digital cameras made today. Each round flower is about 7/16 in diameter. Unusual to find this bracelet is solid gold without any damage and in exceptional condition.
When my wife bought it she was surprised the gold was not a higher carat since the colors seem to be richer (they are richer) compared to most 10k gold jewelry she has seen. The 3 dimensional flowers on the bracelet was a major reason my wife always liked this set since so few jewelry pieces today are made like this set. It us extremely unlikely you will find an art nouveau solid gold set for the listed price.
My wife really likes it but is retired and rarely goes anywhere she would want to wear such a striking set.
