The continents, counties and islands are rendered in matte or Florentine finish hand applied yellow gold giving these land masses a higher relief; which contrasts beautifully with the rose gold of the planet. Highly detailed and a perfect gift for the scientist or enthusiast. I have often seen smaller globes that have no where near the detail found in this globe. This is a piece of jewelry that sneaks up on you; you will certainly appreciate the realistic detail and beauty, and you can hold the world in your hands.... Likely 1960s, thereabouts, and tiny mark for "18K" visible on edge of bale. 11.2 grams, and measures 1 1/5" with bale, the globe itself is 1" diameter, and is excellent preowned condition.
