1940s SOLVIL PAUL DITISHEIM, Heavy 18K Solid Rose GOLD Vintage Watch, 34mm. A true beauty with massive lugs that can't come close to being appreciated in pictures.

Watch is 34mm x 44mm, wears larger, sharp and unpolished. Copper tone rose gold case in excellent condition. The case back is thick gold but does have 3 small soft dings. The lugs are solid and the case is really heavy and let's you know you're holding a hunk of 18kt gold.

Lugs are stylistically notched in a fashion I'm referring to as semi-hidden style. Another example listed that doesn't feature this semi-hidden lug look but has similar lugs. Dial is in good shape with some light patina and a little nick by 2 o'clock.

Band has been used by me a few times and is in VG shape. Crystal in good shape with maybe some tiny scratches. Hands are long and elegant with light patina on a radial applied numeral dial. Paul Ditisheim worked at his family's watch company named Vulcain watch co. He later went on to own the Solvil watch company and during his time in the industry created the most accurate chronometers ever known. Winning numerous world records and working with some of the most prestigious watch manufacturers of his era. To this day he is regarded as the father of modern high accuracy time keeping.

On another note this watch has the most incredible fat lugs I have ever seen. The watch dial seems to almost be squeezed between the lugs. That looks like a lot of 18k rose gold and it is.
